The amount of hours that I've spent on your work, Hang 'em High, is immeasurable. The quality of that map, the specific design of each part, and the all-around gameplay that it provides is unmatched. No one can ever repay you for that design alone, not to mention the other input and influence that you had at Bungie. That being said... thank you. Your name will never be forgotten, for you are a Halo legend and founding father.

Whilst I never met Peter personally, myself and many others knew him from his involvement in computer games.

I still fondly remember the days of the Myth 2 community at Bungie, where Peter was a well respected leader within the community, executing his duties as an Admin in such an admirable and impartial manner that he served as a role model of what I wanted to become when I grew older.

To this day I have yet to find a gaming community as well administered as the one run by Peter.

Thank you Peter for everything you did for the Myth 2 community.

Back around Halo's launch, I went to a Halo LAN party. I was thirteen, socially awkward, a dork, and rather sensitive to the sort of smack talk that dominated these sessions. I eventually retired from the game, feeling blue. Peter didn't know me and had no obligation to do anything, but he ended up talking to me a while and comforting me and helped me get back on my feet. It was an inspiring experience that I carried with me, that there were people so kind to strangers, and I always meant to catch up with him later in life and thank him. I never did, and I deeply regret it, but I just wanted to say that he brighted my existence as he did so many others. Rest in peace.

I am Peter's sister. It's been just over a year since Peter passed away. Now as the holidays arrive I have become extremely sentimental about my brother. I miss him so much. It is so nice that so many people out there supported him through his battle with cancer. Thank you for being so thoughtful and for caring so much about a man that you never met.

Its always been my dream to work at Bungie as a level designer. You are truly my idol and inspiration for devoting my entire life to attend any collage and do whatever it takes to make my dream come true. Live well knowing that all of the halo and Bungie fans are proud of you and memorable creations. Love to your family and everyone who is comforting you in your time of need. When I get to Bungie I will always think of you as my inspiration.

I'm not very involved in the Bungie community anymore as I never played Halo and Myth's day passed long ago, but I remember Mordia very well. He was one of those people that made playing Myth in the late 90s such a fun experience. Mordia also made me a BNA at the end of TFL's lifespan, and I came to understand even better just how cool of a guy he was. People such as Peter made Bungie into the kind of company it is today, and I am greatly saddened to hear he passed away at such a young age.

Peter/Mordia was the very finest myth had to offer
in terms of the high quality of people that one could meet while lovingly spending time playing in the myth community.

i remember when times were slow on b net i would bug Mordia to join my host and his coolness or m2sbr would get tons of players in my host evrey time!

Joan, there are reasons people keep playing myth forever and for me memories of great people like peter are one of them.

When I first heard this news I did not believe it was real.
It has taken me this long to write something in Peters honour.
Peter Marks was a hardworking fellow and when he first joined the Admin community in 1998 ,we were happy to have someone who could be impartial and fair and take up the mantle of being an Admin as it was unpaid and long voluntary hours
We did not always see eye to eye and things of consequence ran askew a lot from their start , but in the end what was past was past regardless of an outcome that was balanced to all parties.
But such are any friendships , no road is ever perfect and that is why our friends are there to make the journey a little smoother.

While working with him there was so much good and fun to be had,he had a unique way of doing his job and a great many people admired the way he handled things.
He was a skilled opponent and had a lot of fun in the community.
He worked with a great many of very talented people, Chris B, Paul C , Tyson G , Stefan ,Jason J,Alex S, Mark B, Matt, Matt H, the list goes on.
His work on the Myth 2 project and the Halo Series, and his ability to make things fun are and always will be appreciated by the community for all time to come, no matter if people are new or old to it.
Peter, I thankyou for you time and efforts that went into this great community that began so long ago now, and for having someone so special in your life that Kristy was.
She is as amazing a person as you are.
Your many adventures in life were just so much that few ever get to have.
Your communications of China , Seattle etc made a lot of us smile.
You are indeed blessed and loved by so many and you touched the lives of many that never knew you as we did .

I like many other sent messages of prayer a year or so ago and I hope that brought some times for you in a dark time.
To Kristy and Peter's family , my sincere condolences and I know he is still with you each day in some unspoken word or unexplained sensory perception.

Peter Marks, now passed, has been an inspiration over the years, but now, he boelongs to History.

Recently losing my father to brain cancer...I feel for the family, friends, and people he has inspired and touched in his life. God bless his wife and family/close friends of them...its a blessing to know he is in a much better place now, but we will miss him until we are rejoined. Take care and I give nothing but my heart out to the family.
